Devcophil values and respects your rights to privacy, and we are committed to protect your privacy.  This Privacy Policy sets out how Devcophil handles your personal information.

We will only collect and keep personal information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, issuances by the National Privacy Commission and other pertinent laws.

This Privacy Policy will provide detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, and in limited conditions under which, we may disclose to others and we keep it secure.

Collection of Personal Information

The amount of personal information we collect about you depends on how you interact with us.  We will collect personal information from you, if you:

  • Sign in, register in our website, browse, make an inquiry, subscribe or otherwise interact with our authorized representative;

  • Contact us by telephone or email;

  • Inquire, order and/or purchase a product, either via email or Devcophil’s website;

  • Enter into an agreement or contract with Devcophil;

  • Make a product complaint or warranty claim and inquiry;

  • Call our Customer Service

1. Types of personal information we collect from you may include:
a. Contact information, such as, your name, job title, home address, email address, telephone number and mobile number;
b. Information related to your business, such as, company name, company address, business and industry type, corporate registration details and maybe information about your business licenses;
c. In connection with the facilitation of transactions, purchases and payment, you will be asked to provide us certain information, to include delivery and billing address, credit/debit card number (with expiration dates and security code) upon your consent, deposit slips or proof of payment, tracking information from cheques or money orders for the settlement of purchase price of the products and services transacted or procured through the Platform;
d. We will also ask you to provide details about the goods and products that you might be interested in buying via the Platform;
e. Other personal information, based on your consent in connection with registration to events or seminars.
2. Information we collect automatically
a. If you contact our customer service or any of our authorized representative via phone, chat or email, we may record a copy of your correspondence and we may ask you for additional information to verify your identity;
b. We may collect details of your activities, transaction and interactions on the Devcophil Platform, including information to the types and specification of the products and services you are looking for, orders and purchases, delivery information, disputes and complaint records, communication between you and our representatives, and any information disclosed in any discussion forum;
c. We may also collect information during or in connection with the trade show, industrial events and/or functions, to include your name, address, phone numbers, and email address.
d. If you visit our website, we may automatically collect certain information from your device.  This information may be considered personal information, IP addresses device type, unique device identification numbers, browser type, geographic location, browser patterns and details of how you have interacted with our Platform and the goods and services available on it.  In addition, we may also automatically gather statistical information about the website and you as a visitor to the Platform, including browser software, operating system, software and hardware attributes, pages viewed, number of sessions you made, and unique visitors.  Collecting this information enables us to better understand you and other visitors who come to our Platform, where they come from, and what products and contents are of interest to them.  This information may be collected using COOKIES, see Clause 6 (Cookies Policy) and similar tracking devices and technology.
3. Information we receive from the third party
a. If you choose to register via a social media account, such as, facebook, Google+, Twitter, and Linkedin we may receive personal information about you from these social media platforms, such as, your username and nickname, your profile picture, location, company name and contact details.  Exactly, the information we receive will depend on your privacy settings with the pertinent platform;
b. We may receive personal information about you from third parties that are engaged by us to assist with providing verification services, promotional campaigns, reviewing and rating our products and services, and to improve our marketing effort.
4. Information we collect from other parties

We may also collect information about you from other parties, such as credit reporting agencies – for the purpose of ascertaining or assisting us, as to your credit worthiness.

5. Sensitive information

We do not collect sensitive information, such as, your race, religion, beliefs or sexual preference except where you have consented or where we are permitted or required by law to do so.  We do not typically collect such information.

6. What happens if you choose not to provide the information?

You do not have to give us your personal information.  However, if you choose not to, we may not be able to provide you with our full range of support and services.  You can generally visit our Platform without telling us who you are or revealing other personal information.

Use of Personal Information

We collect personal information from you for a number of reasons, including to:

  • Sell and deliver our products and services to you (including applications for credit);

  • Manage warranty claims and provide after sales service and repair;

  • Analyze and improve our goods, services and communications to you;

  • Send you information about our products and services;

  • Respond to your questions or requests for help or information;

Devcophil recognizes the trust you place in us when you give us your personal information and so will not give your personal information to third parties unless: 

  • you have given us your consent to do so;

  • it is necessary for us to do so to fulfill the primary purpose(s) for which we collected your personal information;

  • it is for a related purpose which you would reasonably expect us to do; or we are required to do so by law.

The third parties we will typically share your personal information with, include companies that are affiliated with Devcophil, your authorized representatives and service providers which we use to conduct our business, functions and activities. These organizations may be involved or conduct:

  • mailing, shipping or courier operations;

  • information technology services;

  • legal, auditing, accountancy or other professional services;

  • credit reporting services;

  • promotions and competitions;

  • repair, installation or maintenance services;

  • insurance services;

  • market research and social media support;

  • billing and debt collecting functions;

  • website usage analysis.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is disclosed to such third parties in accordance with this privacy policy and on a confidential basis.

Data Retention and Disposal

We retain your personal information as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business to do so, such as to provide products and services to you, as long as you accept marketing communication from us, or as required and permitted by applicable law, such as tax and accounting laws.

When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete it in accordance with applicable laws upon your request.  If this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

This section explains how we use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our Platform. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control them.

1. What are cookies?

Some cookies are required for technical and/or security reasons in order for our Platform to operate, and we refer to these as "essential" or "strictly necessary" cookies. First party cookies are mainly served to enable basic functionality on our Platform; including web analytics cookies that help us understand how users use our web pages and how we can improve their use. For example, we use essential or strictly necessary cookies to enable us to remember goods added to your Devcophil shopping basket and to recognize you when you sign into your Devcophil.com account.

      To customize your user experience on our website we may provide you with the opportunity to connect, access and/or interact with third-party social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin.  Sometimes we embed videos from websites like YouTube. These websites have their own privacy policies which govern their use of information, which you can find on their respective websites.  If you participate in one of our promotional campaigns through these third-party social networking services, you are authorizing Devcophil to access and use certain information from your social network profile.  

      3. What are the cookies we use?
      a. Essential Cookies

      These cookies are strictly necessary for our Platform to function correctly.  They provide necessary functionality to ensure the proper performance, security of our Platform.  These cookies cannot be disabled.

      b. Analytic/Performance Cookies

      These cookies collect information on how you use the Platform.  These allow us to recognize and count the number of users of the Devcophil Platform and understand how each user navigates, the pages they go to and any error messages they experience.  This helps to improve how the website works, for example, by ensuring that users can find what they are looking for easily.  These cookies do not gather information that identify you, they are anonymous and help to improve how the website works.  These cookies are also session cookies which are erased when the browser is closed. 

      c. Functional Cookies

      These cookies allow websites to remember the user’s preferences and choices they make on the site, including username and location.  These improve the functional performance of the Platform and make it easier for the users to use.  For example, cookies are used to remember that website visitors have previously visited the website and asked to remain logged into it. These cookies qualify as persistent cookies, because they remain on the device to use during a next visit to Devcophil website.  Cookies can be deleted via browser settings.

      d. Statistical Cookies

      Also known as “performance cookies” that collect information in aggregate form about how you use our Platform, like what page you visited and which link you clicked on.  These help us how users interact with and use our Platform.  We use this information to help us improve and optimize our Platform and its security.

      e. Personalization Cookies

      These cookies are used to remember your computer or mobile device when you visit our Platform.  They remember your registration and login details.  They are also used to ensure you do not have to login every time you use your browser.

      These cookies may also be used for advertising purposes and may also include social media cookies to enable you to login into our Platform using social media accounts, and to share pages and contents that you find interesting on our Platform through third-party social networking and other websites.

      f. Marketing Cookies

      These cookies help us determine what the user’s interest is based on browsing activities, preferences and purchases.  These will also help us track the user on the Platform or across several websites for similar marketing purposes.  These cookies will also be used to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing strategy.

      How to Control Cookies

      You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies.  If you choose to, you can disable your browser from accepting cookies.  If you do, you can still access our Platform, but not all services may be available.

      You can opt-out of authorizing Devcophil from collecting or accessing your information when you are not using the application and you can cancel this service at any time by deleting the application from your social network account.

      Updating Our Privacy Policy

      As our company grows and changes, we reserve the right to change, revise or update our Privacy Policy at any time in response to the changing legal, technical and business developments by posting an updated version on our website at www.devcophil.com.  The changes will take effect as soon as they are posted on this website.
